Social Responsibility

Here at UK Fire and Security Doors we like to think of ourselves as more than simply a business.

Although our prime motivation involves delivering the bespoke aluminium door and window solutions our clients in a range of sectors are looking for, we never lose sight of the fact that a business like ours has a social responsibility to put something back into the wider community.

Social Responsibility

On a simple level, social responsibility involves cleaning any waste products deriving from installations thoroughly, and then making sure that any items are disposed of in an ecologically sensitive manner and recycled whenever possible.

We think of this as the least we can do, however, and our work with local authorities and housing associations in particular enables us to deliver more for the communities in which our products play a role.

We take great pride in providing UK Fire and Security Doors employees to help organisations out with community gatherings and open days, for example, and if the tendering company we’re working for is involved in fundraising activity we like to make a donation of our own or join in with the actual fundraising activities themselves. As an example of this we have often been involved in fundraising activities with our sister company in order to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Fund.

We also like to get directly involved with the community being served by the tendering company. The simplest example of this involves choosing to advertise job openings within that community, offering opportunities to the residents of a local authority or housing association. In addition to this we operate a policy of feeding back issues to our head office to be relayed to the tendering company itself. These issues could include problems such as damaged premises, graffiti, evidence of drug misuse, vandalism or more general concerns about the welfare of residents. We like to feel that  these steps can have a hugely positive impact on the communities in which we work and the lives of the people living there.

Just as we don’t view our work with doors and windows as having ended with installation, we like to include an element of social responsibility so we don’t think of the doors and windows themselves as being the only things we can offer people. We’re proud of the fact that we can work in tandem with our clients to make a genuine and positive difference to the lives of a great many people, and we’re always asking our clients to suggest more ways of making that happen.
